Savasana, the hardest pose
Lying still sounds easy. So why do so many people fidget through the last five minutes?
Savasana is often called corpse pose. Physically there is nothing to do, and that is exactly the challenge.
After movement, the nervous system needs time to shift from active mode into rest. Savasana is the bridge.
Let your feet fall mat-width apart, palms face up, jaw soft. If your lower back complains, put a bolster under your knees.
Your mind will wander. Each time you notice, return to the feeling of breath at the nostrils. The returning is the practice.
Don't rush up. Roll onto your right side and come to sitting slowly.
